Comments:  Pictured here is a group of Scottsville men returning to town after a successful deer hunt.   Using hunting dogs, local hunters targetted quail, wild turkey, foxes, and deer during such forays into the surrounding countryside.  Use the image below as a guide to the hunters' names:

(1) Miller Payne;  (2) Walter Boggs;  (3) Ernest Hamner;  (4) Alex Bolling;  (5) Tom Frame;  (6) Dr. Benjamin Dillard;  (7) French Boggs;  (8) Dr. Joseph P. Blair;  (9) Charlie Harford, owner of livery at corner of Valley and Main Streets;  (10) Mr. Wade;  (11) Luther Lewis, who stands in front of his Valley Street store called the Luther Lewis General Grocery.
